AdvaMed Wax – Sterile Bone Wax

Bone Wax is a mixture of beeswax, paraffin, and isopropyl palmitate (a wax-softening agent). It is opaque andhas a waxy odor.

Intended use:

It is intended for use in control of bleeding from bone surfaces during Orthopedic surgical procedures.It achieves local haemostasis of bone by acting as a mechanical (tamponade) barrier. It does not act biochemically and is non absorbable. It is available sterile in individual foil envelopes, each containing 2.5 g and packed in an individually sealed overwraps. Bonewax is sterilized by Gamma radiation.

Packets should be opened just prior to use to minimize the possibility of contamination and excessive dryingand should be used immediately. Bonewax should neither be re-sterlised nor subjected to excessive heat
